They both use similar techniques in order to inspire people to war.
For example both Henry and Pain invoke God in their arguments and they state that their cause is right and therefore the God is on their side in the conflict with the British. They also use a number of rhetorical devices and use pathos in order to stoke the fire in the people's hearts.
