The rate of change for the situation is how many chicken served for one person. Therefore we could define the rate of change by dividing the number of lbs by the number of people.

rate of change = [tex] \dfrac{9}{36} [/tex]
rate of change = 0.25

rate of change = [tex] \dfrac{17}{68} [/tex]
rate of change = 0.25

The rate of change for the situation is 0.25 lbs of chicken/person
