Thalidomide
Thalidomide is used mainly as a
treatment of certain cancers (multiple myeloma) and of a complication of
leprosy. During the window of susceptibility, teratogens such as thalidomide
can severely damage critical milestones of embryonic development. As a result,
it should not be prescribed to pregnant women.
