a. outside times the whole, so 6 times 10 = 60. 5 times the whole has to equal 60, so 5 times 12. X=7
b. 3 times 8 = 24. 4 times 6 = 24, which would make x=2 even though that doesn’t look right with the picture. Good luck!

5(5+x) = 6(6+4)

25 + 5x = 60

5x = 35

x = 7

b)

4(4+x) = 3(3+5)

16 + 4x = 24

4x = 8

x = 2
