Why do you think plantations developed in the Southern Colonies and not the Middle or New England Colonies?

The land of the Southern colonies was good for farming therefore the agriculture there really expanded.

I agree with Shinburg! The Southern colonies had more farmland, so more work was required and farmers didn’t have enough time or energy to do it themselves, so they bought slaves which finally led to the Civil War. Hope this helped!
