Answer: 684 divided by 57=12

To find  684 divided by 57 by partial quotients .

Here dividend= 684 and divisor =57

Step 1: Write easy factors of divisor that is nearest to the dividend as follows

57×2=114

57×3=171

57×5=285

57×10=570(nearest easy factor)

Step 2: Now subtract 570 from 684 ,we get 114 then subtract 114=57×2 from it we get 0.

Step 3: Adding the factors we have used in step 1 and 2 ,it will give required quotient=10+2=12

i.e. 684=57(10)+57(2)
