You simply have to multiply both sides by 4:

[tex] 4\dfrac{x}{4} = 4\cdot 5 \iff x = 20 [/tex]

Intuitively, you're told that une quarter of a number is 5. So, which number gives 5 when divided by 4? The answer is 20.
