How did Philip 2 view religions rights of Protestant citizens in his empire

I believe he was intolerant to expression of different religions and/or religious freedom. This was one of the main reason people from England came to the Americas: To practice their religion freely without being ruled by a high power. Protestantism was one of the first circulated religions in the early colonies of North America.
