(x-a)² +(y-b)² = r²

x²+y²+10x-4y-12=0


(x² +10x) + (y²- 4y) -12 = 0


(x² +2(5)(x) +5² -5²) + ( y² -2(2)(y) +2² -2²) -12 = 0


(x + 5)² - 25 + ( y - 2 )² - 4 -12 = 0


(x + 5 )² + ( y - 2 )² = 41 ..... ( standard form )


the center is the point A(-5 ; 2) and   ridus  r = √41
