When Atticus proved that Tom was innocent, Bob was angry about it and he retalliated by his actions at the post office.  Atticus is a type of person who does not take things personally and he sees that Bob just needed to cool down.  This reaction from Atticus to Bob does not stop; he intends on coming for Atticus in a different way, his kids (Scout and Jem)
