The immigration acts impacted two cultures in the United States, Japanese and German people, they were distrusted by American born citizens and most were sent away to internment camps to be held as prisoners of war, and areas where such camps were not available, these people would be put on house arrest such as my great grandfather who was only allowed to go to work and his home for 4 years from 1941-45
