A cell wall is a structural layer that surrounds some types of cells, situated outside the cell membrane. The rigid outermost cell layer is found in plants and certain algae, bacteria, and fungi but not from animal cells. 
A cell wall is a wall that supports the plant cell. It is very firm and that is also the reason why a plant can stand up.
