We are given the measurement of XY which is 5cm. This is the opposite since it is opposite of the angle given. The angle is 32 degrees. Since this is a right triangle there is a simple relationship between sides and angle. In this case since we are to find YZ or the hypotenuse we are given the relationship sin([tex] \alpha) [/tex]=opposite/hypotenuse. Then the answer would be 9.44 cm.
