Federalists and anti-Federalists were major political opponents during the drafting of the US Constitution. They debated and disagreed about the legacy of the American Revolution as to how the US government should be created. Both groups discussed the merits of the Constitution between 1787 and 1790, during which time the colonies resolved on the ratification of the Charter.
