To solve this inequality 5 < x - 2 < 11,
we have to only have x in the middle of the inequality or to isolate x in the middle.
If we add 2 to everything or in all sides and parts in the equation,
we will be left with:
5 + 2 < x - 2 + 2 < 11 + 2
7 < x < 13.
The final answer is then
7 < x < 13 and yes your guess is right. This is simply the step by step solution. We must always remember what we do to one side of an equation or inequality, we will have to do to the other.
