The principle of progression states that the overload, resistance or time,  should be gradually increased in order the body to continue to adapt and to increase strength and endurance. Continuously running three miles every day over the course of 10 weeks is not an example of the exercise principle progression. Increasing the miles running every day would be an example of the principle of progression.
