A car traveling at 27 m/s starts to decelerate steadily. It comes to a complete stop in 5 seconds. What is its acceleration?

a=Δv/t 
a=change in velocity/time  (27 would be negative because it's decelerating) 
So 
Δv=-27m/s
t=5

-27/5=-5.4m/s^2
