1. Y = -3x

-6x + y = -9

The given linear equations are:

y = - 3x                             .......... (1)

and - 6x + y = - 9             .......... (2)

We have to find, the value of x and y are:

Solution:

Put y = - 3x   in equation (2), we get    

- 6x - 3x = - 9

⇒ - 9x = - 9

⇒ x = 1

Put x = 1 in equation (1), we get

y = - 3(1)

⇒ y = - 3

∴ x = 1 and y = - 3

Thus, the values of x and y are "1 and - 3"
