Explain/define Totalitarianism? How is this different from militarism?

So totalitarianism is when the government prohibits opposing parties and have a high degree of control over public and private life. And exmple would be kind of a Dictator.

Militarism, on the other hand, is the belief of a government that a country shoud have a strong military capability to expand national interest and values. An example is current America. Others may include Medieval or Colonial Europe.
