The wishbone is the part of the turkey (and in some cultures, chicken) that is saved and snapped as a supertitious good luck custom. This bone is taken out from the bird when dinner is prepared and left to dry a bit, and later on, two persons take each side of the wishbone and snap it. However gets the longer part of the bone gets to have his or her wish fulfilled, according to this supertitious belief.
