Given :

a-b = c-d    ...1)

b = d-1       ...2)

c = 6

To Prove :

a = 5

Solution :

Adding equation 1 and 2, we get :

(a-b) + (b) = (c-d) + (d-1)

a = c -1   ...3)

Putting given value of c = 6 in above equation, we get :

a = 6 - 1

a = 5

Hence, proved.
