If my memory serves me well, Arabia was very important trading route for Egyptians. They trasported gems, copper and gold through it.

one of the resources that the Egypt supply to Arab traders were Copper and gem stones.
They usually used the trade route of the Sinai desert in order to do this kind of transaction
