[tex]A = (w)(2w+3)[/tex]

or

[tex]A = 2w^{2} + 3w[/tex]

When w = 4 feet

[tex]A = 2(4)^2 + 3(4)[/tex]

[tex]A = 2(16) +12[/tex]

[tex]A = 32 + 12 = 44[/tex] feet
