Carl Vinson (1883-1981) was an American politician and a member of the Democrat party.  He became the youngest member of Congress in 1914 and served for around 50 years.  Vinson was also very influential navy personnel in the 20th century.  He later became known as "The Father of the Two-Ocean Navy".
