Movies that cater to the popular audiences prefer style over substance. The dialogue is usually lackluster and the plot is derivative and stenciled. Movies made for the popular audience also prefer to steer clear of highly controversial content.

Films made for their role of fine art prefer substance over style. They attempt to break new cinematic ground and actively seek intellectual division in order to create an air for discussion.
