Isabel almost misses Becky's appeal for aid because she's lost in her ambitions of winning freedom for herself and her sister. Lady Seymour has requested to see her, and Lockton has invited his friends over for a Loyalist Boys' Night. Isabel puts her plan into action Mission Impossible style at bedtime (cue the music). She creeps up the cellar stairs, ostensibly going to the privy (a.k.a. outdoor bathroom), but in truth, she's going to deliver news of Lockton's bribery to Curzon.
