Why did Elizabeth the first get involved with the Dutch revolt

Elizabeth was known to be protecting Netherlands during the revolt. Her meddling had been a huge downfall for her that's why she never intervened with the other Monarchs anymore. It provoked King Philip and it was sadly a huge idea. Here interference would return her a bad favor.
