x+y = 112 ........ (1)

x-y = 62............ (2)

from (1) and (2)

2x = 174

x = 174/2

x = 87

sub x = 87 in (1)

x+y = 112

87+y = 112

y = 112 - 87

y = 25

so the numbers are 87 and 25
