What does the characterization in Beowulf show about Grendel

Grendel is seen as a monster who wants to kill with no reason. He simply is out for nothing but blood but in Grendel he is seen as misunderstood and only wants to be apart of the humans lives. But he is attacked which causes him to become angry towards the humans for hiding him.
