A store advertises 15% off an item that regularly sells $300. How is a 15% discount similar to a 15% decrease? Explain.

Both a discount and decrease will make the cost the same which is $225 for the object. I think that's what your asking. I'm sorry if it is not that helpful.

15% off of 300 is 30$ Off it's a decrease. Because your taking something away it's a discount!!!
