might have done this a weird way but I think it's right.
4(5x-4)=4x+____ x=2
I honestly just plugged 2 into 4(5x-4)
so you get 4(5(2)-4) = 4(10-4) = 4(6) = 24
then plug 2 into the other side and you get 4(2)+___ = 8+___
finally if you subtract 8 from 24 you get 16.
checking it you get:
4(5(2)-4)=4(2)+16
24=24
