Joe runs 4 miles in 30 minutes. At the same rate, how many miles would he run in 48 minutes?

first you have to figure out the mph, you know this by seeing that he took 30 mins to run 4 miles, which means he will take 1 hour to run 8 miles. Then you set up a ratio = 4 miles is to 30 minutes as x miles is to 48 minutes so
4/30 = x/48 then you solve like algebra and you get 6.4 miles
