distance between (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is
[tex]D= \sqrt{(x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2} [/tex]

given
(-3,4) and (-7,4)

[tex]D= \sqrt{(-7-(-3))^2+(4-4)^2} [/tex]
[tex]D= \sqrt{(-7+3)^2+(0)^2} [/tex]
[tex]D= \sqrt{(-4)^2+0} [/tex]
D=√16
D=4

distance is 4
