Amendment XIII. Slavery (1865)
This amendment ended slavery in the United States. Congress has the power to carry out this amendment. 
Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for a crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exits within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.
