2y - x = 2
2y = x + 2
y = 1/2(x) + 1

y=x/2+1 because you have to do the opposite sign of -x to both sides then do the opposite of 2y (2 times y) which is dividing 2 on both sides to cancel it so y can be by itself. So the x becomes x/2 and the +2 becomes 2/2 which is 1 :)
