The RED TAILED HAWK is the bird that has a synonymous cry with the bald eagle. It is often associated with the same sounds that a bald eagle makes and is often times misconstrued as the real bald eagle of America. These are birds that are known as the "chickenhawk" because it preys mostly on smaller species of birds like chickens. It is one of the most common bird species found in North America.
