How Are controlled experiments useful?

They are more accurate and reliable. If I were researching plant growth, I'd trust a professional, that has a lab, data, multiple attempts, and theories. And I'd be less likely to trust someone who only ran one test, used varying chemicals, and remained out of control with the experiment.
