Greetings!

"Paula is now four times the age of Lynn. Lynn will be 16 in 10 years. How old was Paula four years ago?"

If Lynn will turn sixteen in ten years, she must be 6 at the current moment:
16-10=6

Since Paula is 4 times the age of Lynn, Paula must be:
6(4)
=24

24-4
=20

Paula was 20 years old, 4 years ago.

Hope this helps.
