The equation is [tex] 5^{3} [/tex] × [tex] 5^{-2} [/tex]

First, you need to solve the bases/exponents

[tex] 5^{3} [/tex] is 5×5×5=125

Then you solve the second base/exponent but know that with negative exponents, you divide 1 by the number rather than multiplying

[tex] 5^{-2} [/tex]= 1÷5÷5=.04

So now the equation is 125×.04=5

Answer: 5
