The invention and use of new number systems.

When we look at our clock we can notice that every hour has 60 minutes and every minute has 60 seconds. The reason for this is because the Sumerians had used different number systems. The number systems that they were using were called the base 12 (duodecimal) system and the base 60 (sexigesimal) system. In comparison, today the base 10 (decimal) system is most commonly used.
