Chylomicrons, also called ultra low density lipoproteins (ULDL), are lipoprotein particles that transport dietary lipids from the intestine to adipose, as well as cardiac and skeletal muscle, tissue. These proteins are formed in the endoplasmic reticulum of enterocytes in the small intestine.
