The name of the reflex for when a baby spreads his or her toes out when the bottom of the foot is strokes is called the babinski reflex. The toes spread so much that the big toe can almost touch the top of the foot. This reflex is a normal reflex for the baby and it can last up until a baby is two years old, but can leave as early as twelve months old.
