Explain why the exponent cannot be added in the product 12^3 Times 11^3

11 and 12 are called bases of the exponents and only when bases are the same can the exponents be added.

x²• x³=x^(2+3)=x^5

When bases are not the same but the exponents are, you multiply bases and keep same exponent.

12³•11³=(12•11)³=132³
