Everything about Atticus is completely different from other fathers, I mean not even the way he raises Jem and Scout but also his views on society. He believes that everybody has a purpose and meaning in life and that nobody has done anything wrong. He tries to raise Jem and Scout to behave in a proper manner but also doesn't try to control Scout to be that perfect southern girl image that Scout refuses to become. How you think Jem and Scout feel about this is up to you to decide but I hope this helps! :)
