The Earth is round so that we have day and night. If the Earth was not round, it would not rotate and half of the world would be dead because it would never get any sunlight, and the other half would probably die because of how hot it is. Additionally, if the Earth wasn’t round we wouldn’t have balanced gravity and the Earth would be unable to revolve properly around the sun.
