The answer is false because denotation is the definition of a word from the dictionary while connotation is words/terms used to associate with a word.

Denotation means "the literal or primary meaning of a word"

Connation means "an idea or feeling that a word invokes in addition to its literal or primary meaning"

So your answer is False, they are not the same.
