This question can be answered by deduction. The first thing to note is that 30mm of rainfall each year is VERY LOW, barely 3 centimeters of water in a year. Immediately we can discount polar and moderate climates. This leaves us with continental or dry climate.

A characteristic feature of continental climates is dry (i.e. low rainfall) and hot summers, cool winters. Looking at the temperatures in Tim's city we can conclude that this is a fit for a continental climate. So the answer is A.
