CH₃-CH(CH₃)-CH₂-S-S-CH₂-CH(CH₃)-CH₃ + 2H⁺ + 2e⁻.
The oxidation of thiols yield to a disulfide. Thiol is an organosulfur compound that has a carbon-bonded sulfhydryl (R–SH) group. The linkage S-S-bond is called a disulfide bridge.
