Find the invers of f(x)
f(x) = 2x - 6
y = 2x - 6
y + 6 = 2x
2x = y + 6
x = (y + 6)/2
f⁻¹(x) = (x + 6)/2

Solve f⁻¹(x) for x = 2
Subtitute x with 2
f⁻¹(x) = (x + 6)/2
f⁻¹(x) = (2 + 6)/2
f⁻¹(x) = 8/2
f⁻¹(x) = 4

The answer is 4
