Find the surface area of a pyramid with base sides of 6 inches and a slant height of 12 inches.

The area of base:

[tex]B=6^2=36\ in^2[/tex]

The area of one side:

[tex]S=\dfrac{1}{2}\cdot6\cdot12=36\ in^2[/tex]

The surface area:

[tex]SA=B+4S\to SA=36+4\cdot36=180\ in^2[/tex]
